The Castleton family has been involved in the motor trade for three generations. After a successful career running eleven garages for a plc, in 2004 Giles Castleton decided to go it alone and set up his own business calling it GC Motors.

Initially selling cars from a cow-shed at the Yorkshire Show Ground, Giles’s previous experience helped to rapidly grow the business.

Within a short period of time larger premises were needed and GC Motors moved the company to Mornington Crescent in Harrogate. The business continued to thrive, resulting in a further move to Thorp Arch in Wetherby.

In 2008 the opportunity arose to purchase the current site on Ripon Road with the capacity to hold over 120 vehicles.

Continuing its growth GC Motors now has over 70 staff with an annual turnover in excess of £80 million.
